Ways to Volunteer
(Volunteer position descriptions are in .PDF format. You can download Adobe Reader here for free).
Your help is important and there are so many ways to lend a hand!
Trail Guides lead school field trips and weekend nature programs focusing on habitats, wildlife, farming and a variety of other themes. They teach why it's important to conserve and protect bird, plant and animal habitats as well as to farm sustainably.
Front Desk/Nature Store Guest Services welcome visitors and answer questions about Aullwood, the nature sanctuary and organic farm. (We supply all the answers!)
Habitat Healers assist with the control and eradication of non-native invasive species and the re-introduction of native plants.
R.E.A.D.S. Mentors Work one-on-one with second and/or third grade students in a unique program that combines outdoor experiences with reading and writing. This program is proven to improve students' proficiency test scores.
Behind-the-scenes assistants may be unseen but they are so important! Administrative Support volunteers work in many departments, performing a variety of tasks. Maintenance/Groundkeeping volunteers help our staff maintain more than 30 structures, 6 miles of trails and 200 acres of land. Farm Hands help our farm staff with chores and other farm-related tasks.
Have more time to help on the weekends? There are plenty of activities throughout the year where volunteers can help at Special Events/Festivals or with our Citizen Science programs.
