The Arts of Birding
Drawing, Photographing, and Writing About Birds
June 23 - 28, 2012

sketching workshop Sketching workshop on Hog Island
Under the guidance of some of the country's best bird artists, photographers, recordists, and writers, learn how to use words, images, and audio to enhance your birding abilities, while exploring bird habitats along the Maine coast.

Land on a seabird island to sketch newborn chicks, then write about this unique experience.

Capture the beauty of a singing male warbler in a swirl of watercolor...then capture  bird song in a recording that will last a lifetime.

No experience or talent needed! Just a desire to experience and enjoy birds in fresh, new ways.

Prices include meals, housing, instruction and all boat and field trips. Participants must arrange transportation to and from the Audubon dock in Bremen at the start and end of the session (see directions page). Scholarships are available. Also check with your local Audubon chapter or bird club.
